The (old) Museum of London

A farewell glimpse into London’s layers of history…

Before its closure, I had the chance to visit the Museum of London near St Paul’s — a treasure trove of Roman relics, medieval curiosities, and smoky echoes of the Blitz. Each display whispered stories of a city that’s been rebuilt, reimagined, and reborn through centuries of chaos and charm.

This beloved site may have closed its doors, but it hasn’t shut its story. The museum will reopen in its bold new home at Smithfield Market in 2026, where its collection will breathe new life into one of London’s most historic districts.

For now, these photos are a snapshot of a museum in limbo — a quiet pause before its next great chapter. Can’t wait to see what it becomes.
